In July 2015 the government announced new funding for Coastal Community Teams, in total, 116 teams from around the English coast were given approval and funding.
The AONB Partnership led on a bid to establish a Coastal Community Team (CCT) for the parishes of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell which was one of the 116 successful applications.
A Coastal Community Team is a local partnership consisting of the local authority and a range of people and business interests from a coastal community who have an understanding of the issues facing that area and can develop an effective forward strategy for that place.
The Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell CCT has a broad membership of:
- Northumberland County Council
- Northumberland Coast AONB Partnership
- Parish Councillors
- Local businesspeople
- Community activists
Funding was provided by the government to produce an economic plan to guide the activities of the CCT. The draft plan was prepared between November 2015 and January 2016 and was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government in January.

Further information about the activities of the team will appear here in due course and the team have a Facebook page providing regular updates.
If you live, or have business interests in any of the three parishes and would like to be involved with the team please contact us.
