The first Howick International Film Festival takes place from 13-15th October.
Howick Community Film Club operates out of the beautiful old village hall in Howick where we have a fabulous audio visual system with a very large screen (3 metre wide) and a full surround sound system. Events are held every 3-4 weeks and alternate between Friday and Sunday evenings.
We cater for all tastes by showing a wide range of film types including recent releases, mainstream feature films, old classics and world cinema.
You can sit with your family and friends around tables. Free popcorn is provided. Please bring your own drinks. There is no admission charge but donations would be very welcome.
There is no need to book in advance, please just turn up. It’s a very relaxed and informal evening and new visitors are made most welcome. Plenty free parking is available.
To celebrate reaching our 60th showing we are holding the 1st Howick International Film Festival from Friday to Sunday the 13th - 15th October.
Four critically acclaimed world and UK films will be shown at 7pm Friday evening, 10.30am and 2pm Saturday and 6pm Sunday.
The purpose of the festival is to;-
- celebrate the ongoing success of Howick Community Film Club with over 60 films shown since its inauguration in January 2014
- to raise awareness of our film nights and build audience numbers
- raise funds to cover our running costs and to budget for the maintenance and future renewal of the film equipment
- give the rare opportunity for people to see locally 'on the big screen' some great films from around the world.
The choice of films and time of showings will be confirmed nearer to the event.
To be added to our circulation list for full details of this event, or the regular film nights, please contact John e: johnroper1@btinternet.com or tel 01665-576413.
The festival is very kindly being sponsored by Thompson Opticians.
