Elanor has recently joined the team and is responsible for delivering some access and interpretation projects.

Welcome to Elanor Johnson, our new Project Officer at the Northumberland Coast National Landscape. Within this role, Elanor is responsible for delivering some access and interpretation projects. These will help people discover our beautiful coastline and explore more easily and sustainably, whether they live here or are visiting.

Elanor has lived in Northumberland for most of her adult life and particularly enjoys being at the coast. Elanor shares: “It is my dream job to be working in and for a place I love to spend my time. I can often be found having a dip in the sea, walking the coast, or enjoying a cuppa or a pint in one of the villages in this beautiful National Landscape.”

Elanor has a career background in heritage-led regeneration and learning across places as diverse as prehistoric landscapes, twentieth century coastal defences, Georgian churches and even a medieval castle. She is also a specialist in traditional skills training. Her passion is for connecting people with place by creating sustainable futures for natural and cultural heritage that enhance local community life and provide opportunities for all.

Elanor’s appointment has been made possible thanks to RAMP funding. This project is part funded by UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the North East Combined Authority Investment Fund with the North East Combined Authority as the Lead Authority.
