We’re looking for our next team member – could it be you?

We're seeking someone to work on the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme until 31 March 2025. The FiPL programme, created by Defra and managed by the Northumberland Coast AONB partnership, aims to help farmers, land managers, and others deliver work on the land under the themes of climate, nature, people, and place.

This part-time role will be based at Alnwick Lionheart Depot, with flexibility for home working.

As the Farming in Protected Landscapes Assistant, you will provide advice and guidance to applicants, respond to enquiries, support applications, and check works have been undertaken. You’ll support our Farming and Nature Recovery Officer Mark Middleton, and work alongside Theresa Glynn, who manages the administration of the FiPL programme within the AONB.

Duties will vary according to the needs of the team, but you can expect to prepare supporting information for the FiPL assessment panel, Defra and other managing bodies, use your research skills to discover innovative projects that might attract funding, collate material for reports and outcome summaries and liaise with applicants to ensure they deliver the work that has been funded.

For this role, you should have a good understanding of farming practices and environmental conservation issues. A healthy dose of passion for serving the environment and the community would be great too!

For more information, please see the job advert or call Mark Middleton on 0751755588

The closing for this post is October 23rd.
