Coast Care have a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or someone working towards a qualification to gain valuable experience in the countryside management/ecology sector, working on the beautiful Northumberland Coast.
This volunteer role is primarily based at the Embleton Quarry Nature Reserve in the heart of the the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The main emphasis of the role will be to work alongside the community management group for the nature reserve to help them to implement the new site management plan. The other priority is to help engage local people with the nature reserve through a series of events,activities and opportunities to volunteer. There will also be opportunities to work alongside Coast Care and AONB staff to learn about and enjoy the countryside, wildlife and heritage of the Northumberland Coast and gain a broad range of practical countryside management skills.
The role will suit a recent graduate from the environment, ecology, countryside or land management sectors or someone working towards a qualification who is looking to gain new skills and experience and a foot on the ladder towards employment.
The role is flexible from three to six months, full or part-time and is based in Embleton and Seahouses on the Northumberland coast. The geography of the area means that a driving licence is essential. There is a substantial bursary to cover travel and subsistence as well as a generous training budget.

Coast Care is an initiative created to train, support and resource volunteers to contribute to the management and conservation of the Northumberland coastline from Berwick to Amble. Coast Care is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund
