Tourist Information Centre in Craster

Visitor Information Centres are a source of inspiration for visitors to the Northumberland coast. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on-hand to share their passion and enthusiasm for Northumberland.

A visit to one of our Visitor Information Centres will provide you with all the information you need for your visit. All of the centres stock our excellent range of guidebooks about the AONB.

Services that all of our centres provide include; information on attractions and events, cycling and walking, local travel, eating out, local town and area maps. Parking information is available and parking clocks and permits can be purchased. We also sell discounted tickets for attractions and events.

Centres also offer a quality range of gifts, locally made crafts, books, maps and souvenirs.

 

 

Alnwick

Situated in the Market Place, the Tourist Information Centre is an accessible Grade II listed building. The centre provides information, leaflets and brochures about attractions in the Alnwick area. The office is open all year including bank holidays. The majority of Alnwick's tourist attractions such as Alnwick Castle, The Alnwick Garden and the Bailiffgate Museum can be accessed by foot within a 5 minute walk from the TIC and discounted tickets are sold in the office for these and other attractions. Local, knowledgeable staff are very happy to advise on events and attractions and generally answer questions about the area.

Berwick

Berwick TIC and Library, Walkergate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 1DB.Tel: 01670 622155

Berwick Tourist Information Centre is located in the towns Library on Walkergate close to the main shopping area and historic Town Hall. The friendly staff can provide information and advice on a wide range of subjects to help you make the most of your visit to Berwick and the surrounding area. Find out about walking Berwick’s magnificent Elizabethan Walls, visiting Berwick Barracks, the Town Hall and Cell Block museum, what’s on in the local theatre and art galleries and safe crossing times for Holy Island. Other specialist services available including an accommodation booking service for the Northumberland Coast Path.

Craster

Quarry Car Park, Craster, NE66 3TW. Tel: 01665 576007

Craster Tourist Information Centre is in the Quarry Car Park at the entrance to Craster village. Call in to the TIC for directions to the spectacular Dunstanburgh Castle which is reached via a short coastal walk from Craster. Staff can also advise on where to buy the famous Craster Kippers, direct you to local eateries and places of interest and tell you about the history of the village. There are two short circular walking trails from Craster and leaflets for these can bought in the centre.

Seahouses

Seafield Car Park, Seahouses NE68 7SW. Tel: 01670 625593

Seahouses Tourist Information Centre is situated at the entrance to the main car park in the village. The centre offers specialist knowledge on boat trips to the Farne Islands. With first class staff to help you plan your day out on the coast, we can advise on opening times for attractions including nearby Bamburgh Castle and the Grace Darling museum. Staff can advise on walking and cycling routes in the area and give you tide times for the coast and Holy Island.
